Waitrose presented Peak Paddlers with a cheque for £230, from their community support scheme. Chloe, Alison and Ben attended the presentation at the Buxton store in July.

Over 30 paddlers enjoyed a brilliant weekend camping and kayaking
by the Welsh coast. The chill evening air was warmed by campfires and good
company, with musical accompanyment supplied by Stuart. During the day sea
kayakers headed further down the peninsula for a taste of contrasting rough
and calm
paddling at Trefor and Criccieth. While budding surfers
played along the coast near the campsite. Despite the forecast of rain not
a drop fell. Blue skies and wonderful scenery provided the backdrop

This was Peak Paddlers third year at the Buxton Carnival. Fun and a little wading which involved lots of plastic ducks ensured members went home wet, having had a very enjoyable day. Many thanks to all those who participated, providing entertainment for the crowds and helping to raise the profile of PP in the town.
Congratulations go to our first 'Peak Paddler of the year', Lisa Watson, as voted for by club members. JB presented Lisa with a trophy and bottle of wine during the Buxton Carnival. Our grateful thanks go to Lisa for all her hard work during the the last 12 months, working as treasurer and Thursday night's meet coordinator.
