Forthcoming Peak Paddlers events 2012
Go Canoe open day at Errwood, April 2011
Saturday the 30th of April dawned bright (and very breezy!) for the Peak Paddlers Open Day, part of Go Canoeing week 2011. In conjunction with Edale YHA, the Paddlers offered canoe and kayak taster sessions to many potential new members along with a few holiday makers enjoying the Peak District. It was fantastic to see so many people and boats, with around 50 people trying out paddling with Peak Paddlers coaches and many longstanding members enjoying the sunshine, even taking advantage of the wind to turn canoes into sailing craft.
Many thanks to everyone who worked hard, on and off the water, to make the day a great success. A special mention must go to Dan who (having come down for the first time to 'have a go') proved to be a dab hand with a spatula and kept us all sustained with burgers - we hope to see him again soon!
Peak Paddlers demo day, October 2011
Peak Paddlers end of season bash at Errwood on the hottest October day on record, with demonstration kayaks and new kit from Desperate Measures, plus the usual excellent BBQ. Many thanks go to all members who helped make the day a great success.

Straight line paddling session with John Handyside
In January 2012 Peak Paddlers were the guinea pigs for an informative and enjoyable session presented by John Handyside, from the BCU, on the principles of straight line paddling. More photos on the Photo Blog.
